These pebble pendants were inspired by a hag stone I found on a beach in North Norfolk, not too far from my studio. I wanted to create a pendant that captured the beauty of this naturally formed stone, with its hole created over time by water erosion.
In folklore, hag stones were thought to offer protection. Hanging one around your neck, by a front door or above a bed was believed to keep evil spirits away, prevent nightmares, protect against curses and bring good luck.
It was also believed that looking through the hole of a hag stone could allow you to see into an invisible world of fairies, spirits and other hidden magical beings.
Each pendant is my own interpretation of this folklore, inspired by the idea of carrying a little piece of protection and magic with you.

Each pendant measures approximately 1.2cm wide and 0.3cm thick, with an additional 0.2cm for each accent, and is made from 100% recycled silver.
